Description: This presentation will examine contemporary methods in psychoanalytic couples therapy, with a special focus on the approach developed by the Tavistock Clinic, as well as modern Bionian and object relations techniques. It may also explore additional theories, including link theory and attachment theory. To illustrate these approaches, clinical vignettes will be shared and analyzed during the discussion.
Target Audience: This event is intended for mental health professionals and open to the public interested in psychoanalytic perspectives. Open to members and the community.

Presenter Information
Bio: Leora Benioff, PhD, is a psychoanalyst and couple therapist based in Berkeley, California. She holds the position of Dean at the San Francisco Center for Psychoanalysis, where she also contributes as a supervising and training analyst as well as a faculty member. Dr. Benioff co-founded the Psychoanalytic Couple Psychotherapy Group and serves on its faculty. Additionally, she presides as the North American Chair of the IPA Committee on Couple and Family Psychotherapy. Her expertise in the field is reflected in her extensive list of publications and the numerous presentations she has delivered on psychoanalytic couple psychotherapy.
