Established in 1973 as a non-profit 501c3, the San Diego Psychoanalytic Center
provides advanced mental health training in psychoanalysis and psychoanalytic psychotherapy; mentoring; community education; and public service to San Diego County.
The Mission of the San Diego Psychoanalytic Center is to promote the vitality and relevance of psychoanalysis and psychoanalytic psychotherapy.
SDPC has the following goals and objectives as a combined training institute and professional society:
Provide training and continuing education of psychoanalysts and psychoanalytic psychotherapists within a respectful atmosphere for learning, in accordance with the standards established by the American Psychoanalytic Association.
Serve the mental health needs of our multi-cultural and diverse San Diego community.
Promote the understanding of and regard for psychoanalytic treatments and points of view in the mental health community and in the community-at-large.
Support and enrich the professional lives of our members within a collegial community setting, with respect for the diversity of views.
Facilitate the availability of psychoanalytically oriented services to patients, programs and institutions.
Advance psychoanalytic knowledge and practice through writing, research and public presentations.
We are happy to respond to all reasonable requests for assistance from people with special needs. Our facility is located in an ADA-compliant building, and our Administrator and faculty make every effort to facilitate access.
