Davis A. Suskind, M.D. is a psychiatrist and psychoanalyst with offices in San Diego and Poway California. I specialize in the evaluation and treatment of emotional and self-esteem difficulties, via understanding the inter-relationship between the mind and the brain at various levels. Most of my patients come for consultation because of problems with self-esteem, anxiety, depression, problems in succeeding, inhibitions, or difficulties in making certain life transitions (e.g. school, career, family, mid-life, retirement, bereavement). I strive to evaluate symptoms within the dynamic context of the complexity manifest in mental functioning. Consequently an appropriate psychotherapy and/or medication strategy is recommended. I also evaluate and treat couples. I often serve as a consultant and supervisor to mental health professionals.
